UCSB Artists lectures

The UCSB Department of Art & College of Creative Studies presents The COLLOQUIUM, beginning on Thursday, October 2nd. The COLLOQUIUM offers a wide range of voices exploring the topics of contemporary art, theory, and cultural production by emerging and established visiting artists, as well as members of UCSB’s own distinguished Art faculty. All lectures are free and open to the public, held every Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00pm in UCSB’s Embarcadero Hall IV. http://artsite.arts.ucsb.edu/colloquium/

Mentorships

The Arts Fund – The Teen Arts Mentorship Program is a 20-year-old program that was initiated with a 3-year grant through the James Irvine Foundation. This arts enrichment program has offered promising teenage artists the unique opportunity to work closely with professional master artists in a studio environment. Working in small groups, students spend 10-12 weeks producing a portfolio of work to be exhibited and sold in The Arts Fund Community Gallery or performed in a public venue. http://www.artsfundsb.org/teen-arts-mentorship

Santa Barbara Museum of Art Teen programs

Teaching Assistant Program Teaching Assistant (TA) positions are for 15-18 year olds interested in art and working with children during art camps at the Ridley-Tree Education Center. The Student Art Fund provides support for individual art student and/or art teacher projects of merit.
